
Millennium Challenge Account Mozambique through their Resettlement service provider (PROSIR), carried out last Wednesday, February 22, 2012 , the compensation payment to the first PAP´S – People affected by the project for the rehabilitation and expansion of drainage in the city of Quelimane and suburban areas as part of the Resettlement plan of the project.

Various Associations and individual farmers are benefiting from the funds for the implementation of small business development projects financed by Millennium Challenge Account – Mozambique, through FISP The Farmer Income Support Project.
It is observed on the third Monday of January each year (16th January 2012), which is around the time of King's birthday, January 15.
Most of the world is quite familiar with King's I Have A Dream speech, or Letter from Birmingham Jail. But a work that is virtually unknown is his The World House essay, which is the last chapter of his book, Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? It is based on his Nobel Peace Prize lecture delivered at the University of Oslo on Dec. 11, 1964 In The World House essay, King calls all people to transcend tribe, race, class, nation, and religion to embrace the vision of a World House; to eradicate at home and globally the triple evils of racism, poverty, and militarism. King also advocated a new Marshall Plan to eradicate global poverty around the world.
A special traditional Ceremony “Mukutho” which took place in Nampula, to inaugurate the commencement of the rehabilitation of the Road from Rio Ligonha to Nampula. The Ceremony was held near to the Nampula Airport round-about starting with a Prayer from the Local Chief whom puts “Makeya” (a powder taken from the plant “Mapira”) below the tree while he prayers. The local Chief describes to the ancestors, in the local dialect called Emakhuwa what is going to occur and asks for their blessing, he furthermore asks the community not to destroy but assist the project, lastly to treat this project as if it was their own. The Ceremony was blessed with unexpected Rain.
The event was attended by the community including the President of the Municipality of Lichinga, the President of the Municipal Assembly, American Ambassador for Mozambique Leslie Rowie, representatives of the Direcção Nacional de Terras e Florestas, representatives of the Direcção Provincial de Agricultura, the executive Director of MCA Paulo Fumane, Chief of Administrativepost for Massenger, General Secretary for the Associations for Municipalities, DNTF Land Project Coordinator and Representatives for the Association of Land Surveyors of Mozambique.
The celebration started at 10:00 with dancing and an ingenious theatre group comprising of talented children giving a clear message of the importance of “DUATS”. The recipients consisted of 80% women whom were joyous, with the event a huge success for all.
