Roads and Rehabilitation Project

A special traditional Ceremony “Mukutho” which took place in Nampula, to inaugurate the commencement of the rehabilitation of the Road from Rio Ligonha to Nampula. The Ceremony was held near to the Nampula Airport round-about starting with a Prayer from the Local Chief whom puts “Makeya” (a powder taken from the plant “Mapira”) below the tree while he prayers. The local Chief describes to the ancestors, in the local dialect called Emakhuwa what is going to occur and asks for their blessing, he furthermore asks the community not to destroy but assist the project, lastly to treat this project as if it was their own. The Ceremony was blessed with unexpected Rain.
